Abstract
Purpose : Therapeutic relationship is always developed between a patient and a doctor and between a client and a therapist in various clinical settings including psychiatry. It is truly evident that therapeutic relationship play an influential role on treatment of a patient and a client. But there have been various explanatory theories for the meaning of therapeutic relationship. A new integrated model is needed for the holistic and integrated understanding of therapeutic relationship through understanding these various theories. This study was intended to establish the base of a new integrated model through investigating these various perspectives, especially including the meaning of ¡®the wounded healer¡¯ as a healer
archetype, one of the analytical psychological concepts.

Materials and Methods : The author tried to investigate various perspectives of therapeutic relationship through reviewing materials and to carry on multidimensional understanding and interpretation on them, including the understanding on the meaning of ¡®the wounded healer¡¯.

Results : The various perspectives of therapeutic relationship were integrated and a basic integrated model including the operation of the healer archetype represented by ¡®the wounded healer¡¯ was proposed.

Conclusion : A basic integrated model was proposed, which could give an integrated understanding on the mechanism of operation of therapeutic relationship in various clinical settings. If adding clinical data and amplifying clinical application, the clinical meaning be reconfirmed and developed, it could be possible that we recognize various operations and minimize negative influences during the treatment process and develop more efficient and promising treatment models.
